Giclee PrintsGiclee (jhee-clay) also known as Iris prints, is a very high quality ink jet process developed for the commercial printing industry. The term giclee print typically connotes an improvement or a retrofit of this IRIS technology with archival inks etc. Images are high-resolution digital scans printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates. The giclee process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. The substrate, such as paper or canvas is attached to a spinning drum while different size pixels of archival inks are deposited onto the paper. This renders an amazingly smooth and consistent image. |
