Watergate Cake
A somewhat obscure homage to Nixon—a coverup of icing hiding a bunch of nuts. See more info at Atlas Obscura.
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 box instant pistachio pudding
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 1 cup club soda or ginger ale
- ½ cup chopped nuts
Frosting
- 1 box instant pistachio pudding
- 1 envelope Dream Whip
- 1-½ cup cold milk
Directions
Mix all excep nuts and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Fold in nuts. Spread evenly in 13x10-inch greased and floured baking pan and bake at 350° for 50–55 minutes. Remove cake and cool completely. Mix frosting ingredients and beat until stiff. Frost cooled cake.
