Honey-Bourbon Steak Tips
Sweet and salty steak bites with the added flavor of bourbon.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup honey
- ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup bourbon
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 pounds of steak chunks (filet or ribeye recommended)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp butter, divided
- 1 (6-oz.) package of mushrooms
Directions
In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic. Pour into a large plastic bag; add steak chunks and refrigerate for 2–4 hours. Heat vegetable oil and 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak, cook until seared on all sides. Remove from pan. Add remaining butter and cook mushrooms until browned. Combine steak and mushroom and serve.
Tip: You may need to cook the steak in two batches so that it doesn't crowd the pan.
Optional: Add ½ tsp of red pepper flakes to marinade for extra zing.
